The duration of protection of industrial designs which are registered with the relevant institution is 5 years from the date of application. This period may be extended up to 25 years by renewing the industrial design registration certificate in 5-year periods.
In order for your designs to be protected, it must be a new design.
The same design as an industrial design is considered new if it has not been made public in any part of the world before the date of application or launch. Industrial design innovation is not affected if the design is submitted to the public by a third party or the designer or successor or the consent of such persons within twelve months prior to the application date, or if the publicity is presented to by reason of abuse that are designers or successors.
Therefore, the products that were introduced to the market a year ago are not new and can not be cprotected by the reason that it is a known design.
Your designs must also have a distinctive character in order to be protected.
There is a clear distinction between the overall impression created by the industrial designer on the informed user and the impression created by this known user of any industrial design.
